John McSwegan Obituary

With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of John McSwegan (Hopewell Junction, New York), whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on November 22, 2025 at the age of 69. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

As we bid farewell to this cherished soul, solace is taken in the memories held dear — the laughter shared, the wisdom imparted, the moments of quiet reflection in their presence. Though John may no longer walk among us, his spirit lives on in the echoes of his kindness, the warmth of his embrace, and the light of his enduring love.

He was predeceased by: his parents, John McSwegan and Lorraine McSwegan (Mahler). He is survived by: his wife Rosa Oliva; his son Sean McSwegan; his brother Matthew McSwegan (Jodi); and his pet Rae. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews he loved.

Memorial donations may be made in John's name to the Hudson Valley Animal Rescue & Sanctuary, Crate Escape Foster Safe, or the Dutchess County SPCA.
