It is with great sadness that we announce the death of David A. Markel (Hornell, New York), who passed away on November 14, 2022, at the age of 75, leaving to mourn family and friends. Leave a sympathy message to the family on the memorial page of David A. Markel to pay them a last tribute.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Andrew Markel and Margaret Markel (Snowden); his brother Robert Markel; and his sister-in-law Patricia "Pat" Raynor. He is survived by: his wife Angela Daniels; his children, Pam Markel (Craig Button) of Hornell, Greg Markel (Jenn Close) of Portmouth, NH and Tim Markel of Painted Post; his siblings, John Markel (Betty) of Hornell, Steve Markel of Hornell, Tom Markel (Kathy) of Arkport and Ruth Watier of Lockport; his half-sister Barbara Mazzerese (Richard) of Endicott; and his sister-in-law Mary Markel of California. He is also survived by several nieces & nephews.
Dave's family request that in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in his name be made to the Hornell Alumni Association, PO Box 135, Hornell, NY 14843.
