Gerald Drake Obituary

With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Gerald Drake (Hornell, New York), whose presence will be deeply missed. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

He was predeceased by: his parents, Lavern Drake and Wilma Drake Root (Mullen); his brother T. Donald Root, Jr.; and his sister-in-law Eileen Drake. He is survived by: his children, Paul Edward Drake (Terri) of Silver Springs, FL and Mary Bess Clark of Almond; his brother Guy Drake of Wellsville; his stepsister Terri Jean Root Jackson of Olathe, KS; and his grandchildren, Cody Clark (Christina Canniff), Hunter Clark, Nicholas Clark (Katie Sirianni), Paul Drake, Jr., Jamie Knight (Josh) and Racheal Clayton. He is also survived by 8 great-grandchildren; several nieces & nephews.

A celebration of life will be held on Tuesday, December 16th 2025 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Hornell VFW.

Jerry's family request that in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in his name be made to St. Jude Children's Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
