She was predeceased by: her parents, Harold Stephens and Beulah Stephens (Bennett); her husband Robert C. Carpenter; her brother Larry Stephens; her grandson Michael Latham; and her pets, Lady, DJ and Maddie.

She is survived by: her boyfriend Lawrence "Larry" French of Hornell; her children, Bobby Carpenter (Glenda) of Virginia, Stacy Roberts (Wayne Stonemetz) of Wellsville, NY and Stephen Carpenter of Hornell; her stepdaughter Commande Mitchell (Greg) of Hornell; her grandchildren, Brittany Zaccaria (Lorenzo), Nicholas Kerr, Theresa Latham (Chris), Zachary Roberts (Karyssa) of Brent, Steven Carpenter, Scotty Rougeaux, Brandon Shattuck and Saralynn Donnelson; her granddaughter-in-law Carla Collins (Mark) of Bolivar, NY; her sisters, Gloria Fisher (Pete) of Florida, Judy Smith (Tom) of Almond, NY, Bonnie Simms of Hornell and Brenda Gayhart-Franklin of Canisteo, NY; her sisters-in-law, Marcia Casterline-Johnson (George) of Hornell and Connie McDaniels (Pete) of Hornell; and her pet Allie. She is also survived by several nieces, nephews and cousins.
