He was predeceased by: his parents, LaGrande McCartthy Sr. and Cecile Davern McCarthy; his sister Joyce Howe; and his grandson Johnathan Freeborn. He is survived by: his wife Carolyn McCarthy of Hornell; his children, Cheryl Freeborn (Hugh) of Portville and Paul McCarthy (Keren) of Fremont; his stepson Timmy Mulhollen (Debra) of Hornell; and his grandchildren, Jayce Freeborn, Jeremy Freeborn, Brian McCarthy, Bonnie Reukauf and Pamela Edwards. He is also survived by five great granddaughters.
