He was predeceased by: his parents, Robert Karney and Theresa Karney; his parents-in-law, William and Evelyn Meade; and his brother-in-law Wesley Stead.
He is survived by: his wife Nancy Meade Karney; his son Shawn Michael (Kathryn Karney); his grandchildren, Natalie, Emilia, Patrick and Sophia of Horseheads, NY; his daughter Sarah Meade (Jason Sperry); his grandchildren, Jason Jr., Aden, Shea, Jack and Oliver of Greene, NY.; and his siblings, Charles Karney (Sheila) of Big Flats, NY, Karen Dibling (Steve) of Athens, GA, Marylou Stead of Corning, NY, Cindy Sambroski (Marty) of Elmira, NY, William (Lori Meade) and Mike (Nancy). He is also survived by nieces, nephews.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to Holy Trinity Orthodox Church in memory of Michael.
