We announce the death of Elaine Wood Smith of Hudson Falls, New York, who passed away on July 6, 2026, at the age of 81. Elaine will be remembered by family members, friends, and others whose lives were connected in meaningful ways. She was predeceased by: her parents, Alvin Wood and Carmella Wood (Panucci); her son Robert; her daughter-in-law Mary; her brothers, Lester (Marge Wood, Sr.) and Ernie Brooks; and her nephews, Sean and Jimmy.
She is survived by: her children, Daniel Mickel (Virginia), Susan Barrett (Thomas), Evelyn Hafner and Helen Schenk; and her brother-in-law Tom Brooks. She is also survived by 15 grandchildren, her 31 great grandchildren and 7 great-great grandchildren.
Memorials in Elaine's memory can be sent to the American Cancer Society. The family has chosen to send donations to AMERICAN CANCER SOCIETY INC (NATIONAL HOME OFFICE).
