He was predeceased by : his parents, John H. McCarty and Margaret E. McCarty (Etu); his former life partner Carolyn Jean Tucker; and his brother William J. McCarty. He is survived by : his wife Debbie Wright of Hartford; his children, J. Thomas (Karen Carlisle) of Nicholville, James P. (Angela Martin) of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, Daniel J. (Jennifer Aldrich) of Saratoga, Shannon L. Madigan (Jeffrey) of Valley Falls and Kathleen M. Nicoll (Brian) of Saratoga; his grandchildren, Victoria, Margaret, Therese and Claire McCarty of Nicholville; his children, Jake Kirschler, Meghan, Ryan McCarty of Pittsburgh, Shane, Emily, Brady McCarty of Saratoga, Ashley, Henry Madigan of Valley Falls, Olivia and Abigail Nicoll of Saratoga; his siblings, Michael McCarty (Kathy), Patricia Fuller (George), Kathleen Winters (Ron), Timothy McCarty (Mary) and Margaret Foote (late Donald); his stepchildren, Jennifer Johnson (Jason) of Hartford, Jason Purdy of Hartford, NY, Tory McNulty (Rich) of Cary and Mandy Kolinsky of Schenectady; and his pet Crackers. He is also survived by seven step grandchildren and five step great grandchildren.
