He was predeceased by: his parents, Lawrence Skellenger and Shirley VanRiper Skellenger; and his daughter Amy Jo Smith. He is survived by: his wife Bess Skellenger; his daughter Julie Mae Skellenger (Richard Belcher); his siblings, Linda Randolph, Lawrence Skellenger, Jr. (Jacqueline), Lester Skellenger and Claude Skellenger; his half-brothers, Nicholas and Mitchell Skellenger; his grandchildren, Emily Taylor Smith and Peter James Smith; and his son-in-law George Smith.
A graveside service was held on Tuesday, May 13th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the Mt. Hope Plains Cemetery (13 Mt Hope Ave, Otisville, NY 10963).
