We announce the death of Barbara A. Scharschu of Hurley, New York, who passed away on June 29, 2026, at the age of 91. Barbara will be remembered by family members, friends, and others whose lives were connected in meaningful ways. She was predeceased by: her parents, Frederick Herzog and Zita Herzog (Dueppe); her husband Gerard John Scharschu; and her siblings, Rita McCullough, Arthur, Don, William Herzog, Robert Herzog, Dolores Fiore, Charles Herzog, Mary Sarro and Carol Hughes.
She is survived by: her children, Linda Chorvas (Jaime) of Woodstock, NY and Gerard John Scharschu Jr. (Jerry); and her grandchildren, Shannon Rice of Yonkers, NY, Kyle Scharschu of Accord, NY and Zhoe Scharschu of Kingston, NY. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews, dear in-laws and friends.
