She was predeceased by : her significant other William Sims, Jr. (Bill); and her granddaughter Jazlyn Barnes. She is survived by : her daughters, Cicily Wilson (Greg Speller) and Chaney Sims; her stepchildren, Tina Barnes (Danny) and William Hill; and her sisters, Nell Plaine (Paul) and Jayne Wilson. She is also survived by loving grandchildren, numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.

Those who wish may donate in Karen's name to Hudson Valley Hospice or the Queens Botanical Garden.
