It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Gary Helmer of Ilion, New York, who passed away on May 31, 2024, at the age of 71, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

He was predeceased by: his parents, Leon Helmer and Betty Helmer (Williams); and his brother Michael Helmer. He is survived by: his children, Katelin (Ricky Helmer Gaut) of Vernon, Troy Helmer (Crystal) of Ballston Spa and Dustin Helmer (Lauren) of Hoover, AL; his grandchildren, Trey, Niccolena Helmer of Vernon, Lila, Arlo Helmer, Brayden and Cameron Helmer; and his brothers, Kenneth Helmer and Leon Helmer. He is also survived by several Nieces, Nephews, Cousins.
