She was predeceased by : her parents, Edward Dempsey and Naomi Sprague Dempsey; and her siblings, Terrence, Daniel and Linda Cate.

She is survived by : her son Walter Slentz (Kelly); her grandchildren, Anthony, Merissa, Timothy, Joshua and Daniel Slentz (Jessica); her great grandchildren, William and Pluuto; her brother Steven Dempsey (Patricia); and also, Donna Swartout (Denny) and Melissa Dempsey Cleveland.
