He was predeceased by: his mother-in-law Lois Oas; his brother-in-law Steve Oas; his uncle Steve McFalls; and his aunt Judy O'Connell. He is survived by: his wife Carly (Bonacci); his stepchildren, Paige and Ethan Groh; his parents, Margaret "Peg" O'Connell (Duquette) and Timothy O'Connell; his sister Kelli Brannock (Steve); his nephew Timothy; his brother-in-law Trevor Oas (Allison); his siblings' children, Logan and Parker; his sister-in-law Eileen Oas; his nephew Gavin; his father-in-law Phil Bonacci; his aunts and uncles, Joan, Sydney, Marilou, Katie, Carol, Lisa, Carol M., Sue, Russ, Dick, Joe, George, Bob and Paul "Crusher"; and his siblings, Emily, JoEllen, Christine, Jeff, Becky, Jenn, Joe Jr. Hannah, Kyle, Rob, Libbie, Liz, Johnny, Tom, Kacey, Lindsay and Marissa.
