He was predeceased by: his wife Ellen; and his daughter Diane Everdyke. He is survived by: his sons, Doug Burgess (Mary) and Dana Burgess (Dennis); his grandchildren, David Burgess (Desi), Amy Russell (Justin), Derrick Burgess and Lindsey Everdyke; and his great grandchildren, Emily, Luke, Chloe and Bennett. He is also survived by many cousins and dear friends.
Visitation will be held on Friday, June 27th 2025 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Paul W. Harris Funeral Home, Inc. (570 Kings Hwy S, Rochester, NY 14617). A funeral service will be held on Saturday, June 28th 2025 at 10:00 AM at the same location. A burial will be held on Saturday, June 28th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the Irondequoit Cemetery (3671 Culver Rd, Irondequoit, NY 14622).
In lieu of flowers donations in memory of Gene can be made to the Sea Breeze Vol Fire Dept. 4657 Culver Road, Rochester, NY 14622.
