With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Edward Shay (Ithaca, New York), born in Waverly, New York, who passed away on February 6, 2023 at the age of 88. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his wife Mary Doan; his parents, Harry Shay and Louise Shay; and his sister Mary Pipher. He is survived by: his friends, Charmaine Hull, Dane Scott and Lem Pipher; his siblings, Richard Shay (Connie) and Ellen King; his daughters, Susan Shay of Vestal, NY, Patricia Washburn of East Syracuse, NY and Eileen Cooper (David) of East Syracuse, NY.; his son-in-law Lars Washburn of Ithaca, NY; his brother-in-law David Pipher of Florida; his grandchildren, Katie Kennedy (James), Kaarin Chavez (John), Neil Washburn, David Cooper (Trey) and Amelia Cooper; his great grandchildren, Domonic, Damien, Lexi, Levi, Riley and Olivia; and his pets, Oliver, Otter and Tweeter.
