He was predeceased by: his parents, Claire Bangerter (Ruh) and Frederich Bangerter; his wife Antoinette Riscica (Jamaica High); his daughter Laura Anne Bangerter; and his siblings, Fred Bangerter and Evelyn Altenburg.
He is survived by: his children, Barbara Kane (Mark) of West Seneca, NY, Maria Ortiz (Steve Wheaton) of Freeville, NY and Thomas Bangerter (Ingrid Caruso) of Sarasota, FL; and his grandchildren, Laura Kane-Punyon (Jason Punyon), Joseph Kane (Alejandro Real Valle), Matthew Kane (Gina), Helena Ortiz, Kyle Bangerter (Karolina Kowalik), Alec Ortiz and Derek Bangerter. He is also survived by six great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.
A graveside service will be held on Friday, October 2nd 2026 at 1:30 PM at the Calvary Cemetery (636 5 Mile Dr, Ithaca, NY 14850).
