He was predeceased by: his sister Norma. He is survived by: his wife Elizabeth; his children, Georgette, Belinda, Magnus and Alisha; his grandchildren, Ali (Emma), Amanda, Ravi and Dorian; his great grandchild Eloise; his siblings, Hermione, Patricia, Charmaine, Lisa, Winston (Louise), Michael and Andrew (Lavonne); his children, Christopher and Nona; and his close friends, L. R. James, Ali Mazrui, Ngugi and Thiong'o.
Visitation was held on Friday, September 4th 2026 from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM at the Bangs Funeral Home (209 W Green St, Ithaca, NY 14850). A funeral service was held on Saturday, September 5th 2026 at 2:00 PM at the St. John's Episcopal Church (210 N Cayuga St, Ithaca, NY 14850).
