He was predeceased by : his parents, Pattie Hand (Neff) and Darwin C. Hand; his wife Betsy (Kasanin); and his son Jonathan. He is survived by : his daughter Brooke Gifford (Hand); his sister Susan Hand; his daughters, Pattie and Sonya; and his grandchildren, Andrew, Rachel, Eliza, Peter and Lily.
