Raymond Wood wrote a sympathy message

“We were very sorry to hear of the death of Bob E. Nobles. Our meeting with Bob was in April 1944 when he was stationed at Wollaton Park, Nottingham, preparing for the D Day invasion of France. He became a prisoner of the Germans until he managed to escape and was later returned to Nottingham and my family home. He was in a poor state of health and we were asked to accommodate him until his recovery. He eventually left to return home to America. From: Ray and Pat Wood. the.woods1@ntlworld”
