We announce the death of Susan Byrd (Ithaca, New York), who passed away on July 4, 2026, at the age of 85. Susan will be remembered by family members, friends, and others whose lives were connected in meaningful ways. She was predeceased by: her parents, Annie Dibbles and Cody Mushatt Sr.; her siblings, Eva Welch, Joe Butler, Mary Bradley, Sarah Carthan and Fay Mack; her daughter Sylvia Johnson; and her granddaughter Janay Johnson.
She is survived by: her children, Gail Bing of Augusta, GA, Ted Day of New York, NY, Donald Byrd Jr. of Ithaca, NY, Marlon Byrd (Traevena) of Silver Spring, MD, Lyn Byrd (Melinda) of Virginia Beach, VA and Lisa Hallett (Luke) of Ithaca, NY; and her siblings, Linda Gantt, Betty Mushatt, Cody Mushatt Jr. and Debra Mushatt. She is also survived by 26 Grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren.
