He was predeceased by: his parents, Ludmilla and Frank; his brother Frank; and his son Richard. He is survived by: his wife Dianne Bauer; his sons, Frank and Scott Bauer (Martin); and his granddaughters, Emily Bauer, Catherine Hegarty (Matthew) and Alaina Weisberg.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations be made to Northwell Hospice in Richard's honor.
