Ivy May Matthie Obituary
We are sad to announce that on April 15, 2025, Ivy May Matthie (Jamaica, New York) passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
As we bid Ivy farewell, let us not mourn the absence of her physical form, but rather celebrate the essence of her spirit that lingers in the spaces between moments. For Ivy is not truly gone, but merely transformed, her energy intertwined with the fabric of the universe itself, forever dancing among the stars.
She was loved and cherished by many people including: her parents, Leslie Panton and Laura Panton; her former husband Herbert Smith; her children, Jacqueline, Colleen, Ricardo, Frederick and Sophia; and her husband Calvin. She was also cherished by one sister, two brothers, five beloved children, twelve grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, extended relatives, and friends.
Visitation was held on Saturday, April 26th 2025 from 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM at the Evangel Temple Ministries (227 10 Merrick Blvd, Laurelton, NY 11413). A funeral service was held on Saturday, April 26th 2025 at 10:00 AM at the same location.
