He is survived by: his children, John Phelps (Barbara), Timothy Phelps (Elisabeth) and Lora Keiper (Jim); his sister-in-law Opal Phelps; his grandchildren, Rebecca Embt (Dan), Joshua Phelps, Aimee Keiper (Josey Ferguson), Julia Keiper and Jacob Keiper; and his great grandchildren, Torren, Ellis Ferguson and Theodore Embt. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, family, and lifelong friends.

Both David and Alice were important to the extended Gemerek family. Extraordinary people, really. Life is short and we all get so busy.
