He was predeceased by: his parents, Clarence Brandon McElrath and Frances Irene Crain (Cryan); his significant other Marianne Hoffman McElrath; his siblings, Mary Louise, Bud, Bob, Sis, Dick and Elizabeth Anne McElrath; and his brother-in-law Dr. Graham Hoffman.
He is survived by: his children, James Jr. (Myriam Mayshark), Karen, Michael (Maggie) and Amy; his sister-in-law Mary Evelyn Rice Hoffman; and his great grandchild Neel.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, July 31st 2025 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Lind Funeral Home (805 W 3rd St, Jamestown, NY 14701).
