He was predeceased by: his brothers, Ronald Tanner and Steven Tanner. He is survived by: his wife Cynthia Osborne Tanner; his children, Carrie Detweiler (Gifford) of Mayville, Jason Gifford of Jamestown, Melissa Gifford of Jamestown and Eric Tanner (Angel) of Jamestown; and his grandchildren, Natalie Alvarez, Olivia Aman, Alex Alvarez, Hunter Detweiler and Dominic Gifford.
Visitation was held on Saturday, September 19th 2026 from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM at the Lind Funeral Home (805 W 3rd St, Jamestown, NY 14701). A memorial service was held on Saturday, September 19th 2026 at 3:00 PM at the same location. A celebration of life was held on Saturday, September 19th 2026 from 6:00 PM to 9:00 PM at the American Legion (144 S Erie St, Mayville, NY 14757).
