He was predeceased by: his parents, J. Reuben Ortendahl and Francina Grandin Ortendahl; his sister Lois Lindquist; and his son-in-law Raymond Tomassini. He is survived by: his children, Lynne Ecklund (John) of Ashville, Jon Ortendahl (Julie) of Mayville, Claire Tomassini of Jamestown and Janet Holcomb (Rob) of Jamestown; his grandchildren, Ryan Ecklund (Nellie), Shannon Lingle (Bob), Trevor Ecklund (Tonya), David Ortendahl (Melissa), Kristen Hoadley, Megan McKinley (Adam), Matthew Tomassini and Andrew Holcomb; his great grandchildren, Aubrey, Chandra, Abigail Ecklund, Harper, Harrison, Henrik Lingle, Joshua, Drew, Liam Ortendahl, Ashton, Connor McKinley and Audrey Holcomb; and his close friend Marie Lindahl of Jamestown.
He was a member of Christ First United Methodist Church, Viking Lodge, Norden Club, RSVP, Rotary Club, Jamestown Lions Club, and Senior Horseshoe League.
