He was predeceased by: his daughter Laurel Laurie Lindquist (Mel); his brothers, Daniel Abers and Larry Abers; his grandson Nathaniel Walker; and his great grandchild Elizabeth Byrne.
He is survived by: his children, John Abers (Sue) of Kennedy, Cathleen Kimball (Steve) of Kennedy, Brenda (Chris Curley) and Diana Cheney (David) of Frewsburg; his sisters, Violet Field and Allene Lawson; and his stepchildren, Danny Peru of Kennedy, Debra Hall of Bemus Point, Dawn Milliman of Randolph and Darlene Peru of Randolph. He is also survived by 27 grandchildren and many great grandchildren.
