He was predeceased by: his parents, Leo Slyke and Lillian Van Slyke; his sisters, Marilyn Kaulfuss (George) and Natalie Williams (William); his brothers-in-law, Milton Bruce and Phillip Jaros; and his nephew David Kaulfuss.

He is survived by: his wife Sandra Van Slyke; his daughters, Nadeen Rizzo (John) and Dana Wakefield (Matthew); his grandchildren, Emma, Abigail, Vincent Rizzo, Madisyn and Allison Wakefield; and his in-laws, Garth, Linda Bruce and Bonnie Jaros. He is also survived by nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held on Friday, October 9th 2026 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM. A funeral service will be held on Saturday, October 10th 2026 at 10:00 AM at the St. John's Episcopal Church (1 N Market St, Johnstown, NY 12095). A burial will be held on Saturday, October 10th 2026 at the Evergreen Cemetery (296 Martin Rd, Fonda, NY 12068).
