It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Cynthia Jean Doherty (Johnstown, New York), born in Amsterdam, New York, who passed away on August 7, 2022, at the age of 67, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Eugene P. Yurkewecz and Katherine J. Swart Yurkewecz; and her siblings, Carol Parenti and Kenneth Yurkewecz. She is survived by: her husband George E. Doherty; her daughter Corene S. Y. Morehouse (Stephen); her granddaughter Remie Kaye Morehouse; and her sisters, Judith Murray (Thomas) of Glen, NY and Sharen Yurkewecz of Mayfield, NY. She is also survived by several nephews and nieces, and many friends who considered her family.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Mountain Valley Hospice and Palliative Care, in care of the funeral home.
