David L. Van Avery Obituary
We announce the death of David L. Van Avery of Johnstown, New York, who passed away on September 1, 2026, at the age of 81. David will be remembered by family members, friends, and others whose lives were connected in meaningful ways. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Nelson Avery and Anniera Van Avery; his close friend Susie; and his siblings, Nelson, Noreen, Paula and Kathy.
He is survived by: his daughter Nancy Flores (Robert); and his grandchildren, Gary Cionek, Bryan LaPorte, Justice LaPorte, Clayton LaPorte, Emma Flores and Gracie Flores. He is also survived by 12 great grandchildren and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Memorial contributions in David's name may be made in lieu of flowers to the Montgomery County SPCA or to an SPCA of your choice.
