It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Douglas R. Steenburg (Johnstown, New York), born in Gloversville, New York, who passed away on April 19, 2022, at the age of 72, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Harold Steenburg and Helen Van Alstyne Steenburg; his former wife Diane; his brothers, Clifford Belden and Phillip Belden, Sr.; and his son Todd Schopmeier.
He is survived by: his wife Sandra J. Seaman Steenburg; his children, Rebecca Tahnate (Lawrence), Stacey Wagner (Kyle), Kristen Weeden (Tim) and Thomas Schopmeier (Kristine); his sister Roberta Dumblewski; his grandchildren, Aaron, Ellie, Diana, Bo Douglas, Annisa, Seth and Ryan; and his great grandchildren, Ava and Scarlet. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Memorial contributions may be made in Doug's memory to the United Presbyterian Church of Amsterdam or to the Brennan Memorial Humane Society, both in care of the funeral home.
