She was predeceased by: her parents, Rev. Frank Hiack and Helena Hiack (Pengelly) of Butler Pennsylvania; her siblings, Martha Clem, Marian Clark and Dr Paul Hiack; her former husband Rev E. Ellwood Carey; and her son Scott Carey (Elizabeth).
She is survived by: her son David Carey (Kerrie); her daughter-in-law Elizabeth Carey; her grandchildren, Nicole Lanza (Robert), Dr Abbie Carey, Autum Carey, Willow Carey and Echo Carey; her great grandchild Alexander Lanza; and her sibling's children, John Clem (Wendy), Robert Clark, Thomas Clark (Daria) and Paula Tenaglia (Mike).
In lieu of flowers contributions can be made to the Deacons Fund of the First Presbyterian Church Johnstown NY.
