She was predeceased by: her parents, James Turner and Anne Turner (McAlister); her brother Duncan Turner; her sister-in-law Joyce Turner; and her nephew Eric Turner.

She is survived by: her sons, Austin DeBell Jr. (Delia) and Kyle Howard; her grandchildren, Austin DeBell III (Ashley) and Adalyn Howard; her great grandchild Austin James DeBell IV; her nephews, Cailean (Christie) and Neal Turner (Megan); and her niece-in-law Michele Turner.

Sandy and I embarked on many memorable vacations to Rockport, Boston, Salem, and Salisbury, Massachusetts. We cherished every moment spent exploring the vibrant Sea and enjoyed the Sea Chanties in Gloucester. Those sun-drenched days and picturesque ocean vistas left an indelible impression on us. She was a great friend and I will miss her.”
