He was predeceased by: his parents, Joseph Mellis and Anna Mellis (Grodecki); and his brother Robert Mellis. He is survived by: his wife Karen Mellis (Soules); his children, Laurie Slifka (Jeffrey), Maryann Cully (Sean) and Thomas J. Mellis (Angel); his sister Katherine Satterlee; his grandchildren, Alexandra Slifka, Hayley Mellis, Eric Slifka, Hannah Baldwin, Brady Cully and Ellery Cully; and his pet Lucy. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
