He is survived by: his wife Marie A. Schmidt; his children, David S. Schmidt Jr. (Elinor) and Thomas E. Schmidt (Michelle); his grandchildren, Brianna, Vanessa and Matthew Schmidt; his great grandchild Audrey; and his brother James E. Schmidt (Diane). He is also survived by many relatives and friends.
