He was predeceased by: his parents, Cornelius Heitzman and Henrietta Heitzman (Nock); his wife Dolores Heitzman (Leirey); and his children, Susan and Michael Heitzman.

He is survived by: his children, Barbara Sickler (Robert) of Stone Ridge, David Heitzman (Kathleen) of Kingston and Stephen Heitzman (Linda) of Millsboro, DE. He is also survived by six grandchildren, three great grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.
