He is survived by: his parents, Sarah Mawhinney of Pittsfield, MA and Thomas Mawhinney of Poughkeepsie, NY; his girlfriend Amanda Slater; his children, Elaina, Logan and Luke Mawhinney; his sister Kate Tenczar; his nieces and nephews, Reagan and Etta; and his stepsister Sophia Sagan.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the scholarship fund which will be created in Dan's name.
