He was predeceased by: his parents, Edwin Sammons and Janet Sammons (Rich); his spouse Gay Sammons (Galbreth); and his brother Peter Sammons. He is survived by: his sons, Scott Sammons (Jeanne) of Port Ewen and Eric Sammons (Dana Woitasek) of Port Ewen; and his grandchildren, Tiffany Sammons, Susan Dallies, Christopher Gray and Timothy Gray. He is also survived by many great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and other family members.
