“Mr. Kurtz was very much a grand-father-like figure for me. He and I had an affinity for the water, and specifically the Hudson River. He would launch his home-made sailboat from our family's dock and I would join him on my fourteen foot sailboat as a teenager. We took several overnight trips on our boats up and down the river. Whenever I visited home, I would swing by his home on Main Street. I saw him last in 2012, and I am deeply saddened by his passing. He lived a wonderfully full life. RIP”
