He was predeceased by: his parents, Lawrence Winchell and Frances Winchell (Eckert); his brothers, Lawrence Winchell, Jr. (Red) and Abraham Winchell (Abe); and his daughter-in-law Eileen Winchell (NiNi).
He is survived by: his wife Catherine J. Winchell; his children, James A. Winchell, Jr., Brenda LaVoie (Joseph) and Allen Winchell, Sr.; his grandchildren, Amanda Murray (Thomas), Melissa Winchell (Jeffrey Anderson), Allen Winchell, Jr. (Kerri), James L. Winchell (Tara), Kimberly Winchell (Zack Zahorsky) and Brandon LaVoie (Jessica); his great grandchildren, Thomas, Elizabeth Murray, James Jeudy, Maysen Kate, Emily Allyn Winchell, James L. Winchell, Jr., Natalie Reese Zahorsky and Bennett LaVoie; his daughter-in-law Bonnie L. Winchell (Sheila Brown); and his caregiver Adelaide Abankwah. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
