He was predeceased by: his parents, John J. Hertle Sr. and Rosemary Broschart; and his former wife Barbara Young Hertle. He is survived by: his children, Annmarie Huffman (Brian) of Kerhonkson, John Hertle III (Barbara) of Kingston and Michael Hertle (Laura) of Kingston; his wife Katherine Irwin; his grandchildren, Nicole Cooke, Chauncey Cooke, Andrew Huffman, Brittany Brocco (Michael), John IV Hertle (Taylor) and Aislinn Hertle; his great grandchildren, Julani, Jaeliana, Aliana Clark, Bryce, Kyler Brocco, John Hertle (JJ), Thomas, Rearick, Robert, Chloe and Lilith Cooke; and his brothers, Larry Hertle (Carol) of Texas and Bob Hertle (Melanie) of Napanoch. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, and cousins.
Visitation will be held on Monday, October 20th 2025 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Loucks Funeral Home (79 N Main St, Ellenville, NY 12428). A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, October 21st 2025 at 11:00 AM at the same location. A burial will be held on Tuesday, October 21st 2025 at the Furman Cemetery (84 Yeagerville Rd, Napanoch, NY 12458).
