He was predeceased by: his parents, John H. Long and Dolorita Long; his siblings, Mary Kate, Joseph (Eileen) and Golisano; and his daughter-in-law Lory Long.

He is survived by: his wife Nancy Long (Gulisano); his sons, Michael Long (Tracy), Joseph Long (Debbie), Christopher Long (Djennarra) and Stephen Long; his grandchildren, Jason Long (Hannah), Justin Long (Courtney), Kaleigh Illa (Victor), Andrew Long (Christine), Alyssa Maher (Shaun), Taylor Long Breah (Michael Arastiqueti), Taygen Long, Samantha Fagan (Kim Fagan), Allison Long (Josh Kobylanski) and Samantha Holloway; his great grandchildren, Caylee (Gage), Kaiden, Arya, Kieran Illa, River, Remi White Amelia, Jayce Maher, Karsyn Knox, Ava, Ella Mihok, Aiden McNally, Wesley McCallum, Harper Caswell, Juliette, Benjamin Fagan, Chaelynne, Miliana, Nevaeh, Keith Holloway and Lily Mejia; his sibling's children, Tracy Mowry Melanie (Steve) and David Gulisano (Liz); Rori Mowen.

Visitation was held on Wednesday, December 10th 2025 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Joseph V. Leahy Funeral Home, Inc. (27 Smith Ave, Kingston, NY 12401). A Mass of Christian burial was held on Thursday, December 11th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the St. Joseph's Church (242 Wall St, Kingston, NY 12401). A burial was held on Thursday, December 11th 2025 at 12:15 PM at the St. Mary's Cemetery (322 Foxhall Ave, Kingston, NY 12401).
