We announce the death of Doris L. Burghardt (LaFayette, New York), who passed away on September 27, 2026, at the age of 102. Doris will be remembered by family members, friends, and others whose lives were connected in meaningful ways. Doris will be remembered for the impact she had on the lives of those around her. Friends, family, and colleagues will cherish their memories and the time shared. Those who knew Doris will remember moments of kindness, warmth, and presence. Though words cannot fully capture her life, the legacy of connections and experiences remains. Doris’s absence will be deeply felt by those who valued her companionship.
She was predeceased by: her husband Arthur; and her daughters, Kathy Doctor (Laverne) and Susie Lande (Bruce). She is survived by: her children, Dotti Anderson, Jill George (Russ) and Jack Burghardt. She is also survived by her grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and very recently, great-great grandchild.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, October 7th 2026 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Ballweg and Lunsford Funeral Home (2584 Field Ln, Lafayette, NY 13084). A funeral service will be held on Thursday, October 8th 2026 at 11:00 AM at the Book Hotel Church (7386 Academy St, Pompey, NY 13138).
