She was predeceased by : her parents, Alex Smith and Anna Smith (Zifchock); her husband Robert S. Zavaski; and her siblings, Anna Beckwith (George), Mary Polanski (Louis) and John J. Smith (Evelyn).

She is survived by : her children, Juliann Nelson (Philip), Francine Hayhurst (Jeffery), Gerard Zavaski (Damita) and Regina Genung (Wayne); her grandchildren, Zachary Nelson (Alexandra), Michaela Fernandez (Elias), David, Victor Hayhurst, Alexander, Sarah, Emma Zavaski, Nicole Bartlett (Travis) and Melissa Genung; her great grandchildren, Sophia and Olivia Nelson; and her pet Penny.
