The memory of Joyce A. Hempstead of Latham, New York, who passed away on September 24, 2025 at the age of 81, will forever remain in the hearts of those touched by this precious presence in their lives. In the vast expanse of eternity, Joyce shall find rest, cradled in the arms of everlasting peace. And as we bid Joyce farewell, her loved ones carry with them the precious gift of her memory, a beacon of hope guiding them through the shadows of sorrow towards the light of a new dawn.
She was predeceased by: her parents, John Rector and Margaret Rector; and her husband Robert Hempstead. She is survived by: her son Mark Hempstead (Eileen) of Glenville; her sister Janice Hopkins (Ronald); and her grandchildren, Madison, Carter and Lincoln. She is also survived by nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, October 1st 2025 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the New Comer Cremations & Funerals (343 New Karner Rd, Colonie, NY 12205). A funeral service will be held on Thursday, October 2nd 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Latham Community Baptist Church (109 Forts Ferry Rd, Latham, NY 12110).
