He was predeceased by: his parents, Joseph Ostiguy and Margaret Ostiguy; and his sisters, Loretta Robitaille and Margaret "Peggy" Geden. He is survived by: his wife Pat; his children, Lisa, Matthew (Sandy) and Jennifer; his grandchildren, Brandon, Ryan, Connor, Shane, Rachel and Keira; and his brothers, Paul (Roe) and Robert (Aggie).

In lieu of flowers, donation may be made to St. Ambrose Church in Richard's name.
