He was predeceased by: his father Ronald Hills; his sisters-in-law, Rita M. Buckingham and Debra Matulewicz; and his mother Imelda Widrick Hills. He is survived by: his wife Jane E. Matulewicz; his brothers, Larry R. (Ruth Hills) and Mark L. (Nicole Hills); his parents-in-law, John W. "Jack" and Clara E. Bush Matulewicz of Lowville; and his siblings-in-law, Andrew, Cathy Matulewicz of Penn Yan, Walt Matulewicz of Lowville and Greg Buckingham of Queensbury. He is also survived by aunts, nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews, and cousins.
