She was predeceased by: her parents, Henry Shields and Catherine Trehy Shields; her husband Gerald Shortall; her daughter Cathleen Rampe; her grandson Richard Shortall; and her siblings, Kathleen Heslin and Sister Kevin.
She is survived by: her children, Janet Bates (Bryan) of Ithaca, NY, Tara Magee (Christopher) of Elkin, NC, Kevin Shortall of Monticello, NY, Brian Shortall (Linda) of Liberty, NY, Timothy Shortall (Jan) of Monrovia, MD and Shawn Shortall (Renzo Soriano) of Pulgia, Italy; her son-in-law Charles Rampe of Roscoe, NY; and her sister Veronica Travers. She is also survived by fourteen grandchildren, four great grandchildren.
A graveside service will be held on Saturday, November 1st 2025 at 11:00 AM at the Sullivan County Veteran's Cemetery (171-181 Sunset Lake Rd, Liberty, NY 12754).
