He was predeceased by: his parents, Isabella Smith, (Adams) and Earl T. Smith, Sr.; his siblings, Michael Smith, Peggy Jenkins and Eugene Smith; and his in-laws, Dorothy and Orrin Prichard.

He is survived by: his wife Carol Ann Smith (Prichard); his daughter Michelle; his son-in-law Kevin Wahila; his grandchildren, Orrin Connor Wahila, Adrian Marcello Wahila of Crannes and France; his brother Earl T. Smith Jr.; and his siblings-in-law, Brenda Smith of Weirsdale, FL, Karen Smith of Lisle, NY, Ralph and Lois Prichard of Bear, DE. He is also survived by nieces, nephews and dear friends.

In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy may be made in John's memory to Guthrie Hospice; Vestal, NY.
